Strawberry CHESS BARS Recipe

Strawberry CHESS BARS RecipeStrawberry CHESS BARS Recipe hello everyone today I'm going to show you how to make strawberry chest bars you can substitute the strawberry cake mix for different flavors but I always lean towards strawberry these are perfect for holiday treats and parties here we go so I'm going to go over the ingredients for the first layer here I have one box of strawberry cake mix one softened stick of butter this is unsalted butter and one room temperature large egg this is going to be the first layer here in a large bowl I'm going to add my cake mix and if you don't want Strawberry you can definitely use vanilla or yellow cake mix chocolate people do a lot of different types I'm going to add my softened stick of butter one large egg okay so now you want to combine and mix well and it's not a wet batter it's going to be a crumbly and I guess kind of dry but moisturized from the egg and the butter what you'll end up with is a crumbly mixture so here I have a 9 by 13 pan baking pan and I'm going to add all of my little cake crumble here and this is the part where you want to work with clean hands because you're you're going to want to use your clean hand and press in this first layer you don't need to prep the pan there's a whole stick of butter in here it's not going to stick trust me and you just want to press this evenly for the first layer foreign I am opting and I always like to do this is to add fresh strawberries and this was a pound of strawberries that I sliced each strawberry I sliced into thirds and I'm just going to you know really and honestly you can kind of just pour it here and layer it out flat and this is optional but I do like the addition of the fresh fruit to this so for the second layer I'm going to be using eight and eight ounce block of softened cream cheese two large eggs that have come to room temperature I'm going to be using some vanilla extract this is actually flavoring extract I don't know I have a huge bottle and I'm using it I'm going to use probably one or two teaspoons and one pound of powdered sugar or confectioners sugar I know that sounds like a lot this is just the old school recipe that probably everybody has and it calls for a pound of confectioners sugar okay I'm gonna use the same cake bowl and it does have some of the like strawberry crumbs in it um I'm gonna go in with I'll tell you what here in my large cake bowl or mixing bowl not cake Bowl I'm going to add my block of cream cheese and you do want to make sure that it has completely softened before you start mixing it up you can also use your uh Electric mixers and beaters for this it does make the job easier okay two large eggs going in going in with a splash of vanilla extract quite honestly that was probably a tablespoon but one or two teaspoons works I'm gonna mix this before I start adding the confectioner sugar I want to give this a head start and it does help like I said everything room temperature that'll mix it a lot easier now I'm going to add my sugar I'm just going to combine and mix well until it's creamy and smooth okay so I've whisked and Heat this until it's smooth and creamy and you know what this kind of has there we go now I'm going to pour oops I'm going to pour this over as the last layer and you spread it out evenly and then you're just going to spread that out it's going to cover the strawberries and that first layer as evenly as possible once you've kind of spread it enough you can kind of just tilt the pan to get anything that didn't get coated or covered okay I am going to bake this in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit okay going in okay so I have it in the oven and it's going to bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for around 40 minutes you might want to check it around 35 minute Mark and then if it needs extra time let it go for another five minutes okay we're gonna check it let's see oh it's hot hold on okay so this is done it has been a little over 35 minutes so like I said 35 to 40 minutes so we're gonna take this out carefully okay oh my gosh so this kind of got like that light golden brown color so what you're going to do at this point is let it set and completely cool this is a really good dessert to bake the night before and then you cut it into squares the next day so you want to make sure it's completely cooled before cutting it into squares okay it has been several hours like five or six I'm gonna use a plastic knife to cut this and all you're going to do you can cut it into like squares or like I said bars but look at this you let it cool and it cuts a lot cleaner and easier I'm going to take this all the way down okay and then you can just um you know cut let's do it this way there we go the first one never comes out perfect okay and here we go trying to get the light here but a delicious strawberry chess bar you cut them into bars it makes a great gift or a wonderful holiday treat so good these are so good and the lighting's a lot better it got dark outside but I'm going to give it a try cheers  that's the strawberry so good I hope you give this recipe a try I hope you like it.
